What do you use for your fishing .

The summer months I use squid and scopex. I have found this to be a productive bait and during the winter found Active 8 or maple 8

Well, carping wise I started out with seafood blend and blue cheese as my favourite flavours. Then I went through a Tropicana and maple syrup stage ... but hated the way they made my frozen peas taste. (And yes, I realise I'm showing my age...! I used to think Rod Hutchinson was God too and read everything he ever wrote about bait)

These days I don't mind so much what flavour I use ... we use quite a lot of halibut pellets so I tend towards meaty, spicy or fishy flavours.

I enjoy pike fishing too but .... girly moment coming up....... I won't live bait. If they won't take a sardine , a smelt or a lure then they can stay in the water as far as I'm concerned!  Very Happy  Very Happy

Shop bought boilies I have always found tutti frutti, pineapple and white choc productive, but recently I have been getting my boilies from Frank at Catcherbaits, they are brilliant and at a decent/realistic price, so far I have tried Crab'n'Fruit, Tigernut'n'nMaple  and Scopex Squid. Homemades it's Nut and Chilli, regards Trev.

Don't like shop bought boilies much, but at the moment freezer maple8's are doing best for me, buuuut!, if the wife decided to start her boilie making again, i would definately use her Strawberry mix in the summer, they've caught a massive amount of carp for me.

Hello all,

THE GREAT BAIT DEBATE  I love it Very Happy

I have used 3 baits in the last fifteen years.
That is give or take the odd pop up in the winter. I have also used particles and pellets but don't tend to use these to much as i always find the Biguns love a boilie. This is in the uk and on the types of water i fish.

My feelings are that lots of anglers out there worry to much about there bait and don't look for the dinner plates to put it on.

As Ron said it's got to be a bit of both, but cheap is definately not best. Not unless you can get the best cheap if you know what i mean.

Dave
