Laughing   Laughing and here we have a selection of prime beef, with mixed vegetables, in a rich red wine sauce, with added herbs and spices, with the most delicate suet balls gently caressing the surface, a mouth -watering dish that will fill any anglers appetite....... (beef stew and dumplings) sorry c-g, couldn't resist, seriously tho you could make almost any thing on the bank, once prepared from home.

most people take rice and cook different things with it, rissotto is easy to do, and very tasty..

Who are you calling lardy balls AC?  Laughing  Laughing

Pheasant and orange casserole with chestnuts.... all in one pot, with another for the lovely creamy mash................

Actually I once did a stroganoff in one pan, gnocchi in another (very easy and highly recommended if you like a bit of stodge on the bank!) and fresh lychees for pud... it was at a social and we had company. They all brought a plate, fork and chair!

Last year in France we fished with some French mates and we took it in turns .... lovely not to have to do the washing up every day! We had couscous, french sausages, pasta .... The beer helped a lot too......

Yep... got me started good and proper!

I think something filling is best when you're fishing, don't you? Anything half cooked is good isn't it? (Gnocchi, like I said, boil in the bag rice, noodles..... all good. And you can get those packets of potato hash stuff.... and couscous and risotto pronto... though I wouldn't use Smash.... just don't like it. Corned beef hash is fab and not difficult, so long as you've got plenty of fuel (and tomato ketchup!) We use a Coleman with petrol so I can always siphon it out of the car  Twisted Evil

BBQ's always good too ..... mmmmm
I can feel a social coming on......
