10 day forecast looks a bit better down south... well at least it looks like the lakes wont be frozen  Very Happy

Anyone fancy a night on Brasenose 1, Linear. I hear there is plenty of carp in there so may be a place to hear the buzzers sing  Very Happy

Gonna try and get out myself, but am busy at mo so cant be deffinite. Some mates of mine reckon that Thorpe lea is always good for a bite during the winter, mind you it's an 18 acre lake with about 30 swims!! and it's £1 per hour for max of 2 rods.

36 hours on Brasenose, fishing face on to the wind blowing across 30 acres of lake resulted in this little beasty, a very welcome visitor to my landing net. It had been almost 2 months without fishing 2 1/2 months since i last had a fish  Rolling Eyes

it was good to get a take i must admit i was a bit shocked when the buzzer sounded, caught me by surprise ... but thats part of the reason we do it  Very Happy

conditions, whilst feeling gale force did seem to be spot on i was surprised that there was not much moving or being caught, perhaps the cold from the last few weeks had taken its toll. I think i will go back for another try after Christmas if anyone fancies joining me, let me know  Laughing

I have been fishing the stour lately,as the lakes have been frozen, had my first ever pike of 14.5lbs,it had a mono trace hanging out its rear vent which i cut of as near as poss to the vent, and a massive chunk missing out of its top tail fin, bite shaped!  The top pic is of Troop Mill at 7am last Wed morning, the other 2 pics are the same day about 6 hours later.
