Hi guys,

I'm originally from Canada where gals are known as guys too so don't think i'm being sexist or anything gals!

Just found this forum while searching for Big Ron on the web. When i first started carping Ron as a complete stranger to me took the time to give me bundles of advice and i've always admired the big fella for a number of qualities that he has. Met Ron a couple of times since.

I've been carping for about 5 years now, still haven't had a 40 yet but been close a few times both home and abroad, hopefully this wil be the year.

I absolutely detest the competetive and bitchy aspect of our favoured hobby, i personally fish for my own satisfaction and the commoradery aspect of spending time with friends who share the same passion as me.

I haven't fished much in the past eight months due to some tough times in my life at work and home, infact the only session since July 07 has been a week at JRC in Oct. Will be joining Monks Pit again this year although i'm not sure how much i'll be fishing it. I haven't read much about your syndicate yet but i like the sounds of joining a french syndicate, i just don't get the chance to fish on a regular basis.

I'll get a picture sorted out for an avatar and can you create a gallery on here?

Planning on doing Chanty next year, only foreign session this year will be some stolen moments while on a river boating holiday with the family down near Dijon in the summer.

Never understood why people get so worked up over names.....

About galleries.... there's a link down the bottom of the page that takes you to a gallery of all the pics posted on here in all the threads - I think! However, I haven't worked out how to let members create their own 'album' on here. I'm sure Ron'll have something to say about this. Just sent him down to Focus though..... Laughing

Hi Big Al ....nice to see you on our little forum ....it was mainly set up for the syndicate members ....so we could all share information about the lake in France ...its not far from the JRC lake and also very very close to Chanty .... Very Happy

Im actualy thinking of taking Trish to Chanty on one of our trips out to the syndicate lake ....so I can show here what real Carp fishing is Like Very Happy

feal free to post any pictures you like they will automaticly go in to the gallery ...untill we can work out how to set it up for each member Very Happy

there is quite a few bits of information on the lake and we will be updating it after we are back from the trip out there next week .....cant wait to see the first fish out from the stocking and as they are all virgin carp ...they should give a real good acount of them selfs Very Happy

How was your trips to Chanty ?? I have not fished since 1997 ....which was the trip I landed my biggest from the lake Very Happy

i haven't done Chanty yet Ron, next year will be my first. I'm going with someone who fishes it every year at least once though, i've not met the guy yet but he's a mate of a good mate of mine who is also doing it for the first time so i'm sure i'll be alright.

Spending this year making sure i get the right gear; boat, rod rests, sonar, etc. but also want to ask you a few questions in advance.
