Hi Guyshi guys (ladies are also known as guys in Canada Trish)i haven't been on for a while, just been mad busy and been doing my best to get on the bank as often as i can. how's everyone been? and how's the fishing been? i've got next week off, booked for the week on my syndicate lake but i'ts been fishing real pants lately and i'm seriously thinking of jumping across to france for the week on the river soane. to do, what to do! |

wet a few lines myself a few weeks ago, and loved it, as I haven't been on the bank for a while, sadly too many committments. best of luck next week when you are on your syndicate, and tight lines for you, I'm looking forward to your report.... even if you don't catch!! lol  the break will do you good.

the carp gods were far from good to me, a 5 night blank!
the weather was all wrong, clear bright sunshine but very cold, down to -2, had a fair chunk of rain and sleet as well but nohing, absoluely nothing. gutted! i wish i had gone to france and done the soane but couldn't get anyone to go with me including my son! didn't fancy doing the river on my own, need someone to at least take pics! |

i was going to phone you up actually and see if i could talk you into a week on the river, figured you would be busy though so didn' bother. |

Have you had time to nip to the lake Ron,or are you gonna wait till after pershore, if you want hand on the lake/work party sort of thing gimme a shout mate I seem to have a bit of spare time on me hands lately!!
Big Al, fair play for sticking it out mate, no such thing as a blank in my book mate,I always seem to learn summink, even if it's too take anuvver jumper next time!

Went on my local club lakes Tues-Fri bloody freezing and blanked, but nice to be there. | ||

if you can make the effort and brave the cold its worth it just to be out there .... even if the fishing is tough in the winter.....
we should find an easyish lake (if there is such a thing in winter) and have a trip there... any ideas where?

I agree, this time of year is lovely,as long as you got the right clothing and some cooking gear for hot food. I usually find myself with a whole lake to myself,fantastic I aint got a clue of any easyish lakes near me,but there is loads of waters, I am trying to arrange a lake for our yearly social baliffs trip, I wanna go to Orchid Lakes ,home of the 30's, but it aint up to me

Yes the Carp are still feeding and Steve done very well for this time of year and his first trip to the water
We bumped into other anglers on the return jorney and they had all blanked on etang 5
the weather was quite bad, rain, snow and cold
but there was still the odd fish showing, so they were moving around. Here are a couple of the fish Steve had .....I was over the moon with the condition they where in

32 Mirror just look at the colours on this one.... Steves smallest just under 20 lbs 
I think Steve had ten takes during the week Not to bad for Winter fishing

It’s been a long time since I last checked in on the forum – Has anybody been to the lake recently? And does any one know how the lake is fishing? I thought that I might try to get down for a few days in the New Year (assuming the weather is reasonable).
I’ve just got back from a 5 day fishing trip in Texas on Lake Fork, just to the east of Dallas (had to use up some of my airline points that were about to expire) – it’s a big 20,000 acre lake. I was fishing with a friend from the “Lone star carp brigade” Jason Johonnesson, who runs http://www.texasbuffaloadventures.com/ (Ron, Jason says Hi) I caught a 32lb Buffalo and 10 commons ranging from 15lb to 25lb ( these US lake commons fight like fish twice their size) and numerous Chanel Cats. We fished from a deck built .on the roof of his boat house, which gives you a different perspective |

What was the winning method ?? That looks cold... what has happened to the weather this year, we seem to be paying the price for getting used to milder winters... i thought that winter didnt begin until March and it only snowed then
