If it was a choice of your own safety or that of a fish which way would you go.

This arose last year in France. A lad had a take mid afternoon , played the fish for around 20min or so and the fish got snagged. With no hesitation got down to his boxers and went in. With no really idea on the water / layout at times went under the water to surface on a bar. The fish released and back on dry land , he just took it in his stride and said" it had to be done"
