PlansThe fish going in has certainly focused our minds! We've been pushing a lot of thoughts around over the last weeks - as you'd expect, as we've started to involve more people it's got a bit more complicated and we want this to be fair and a good experience for all concerned. At the end of the day, though, the lease is ours and we have the responsibility for taking a longer term view ...
Some of you are eager to get on there early, some of you would like the syndicate to start a bit later so that there's a bit more time to get the money sorted out. This is how the plan looks this morning:
The syndicate year will start on the first weekend in April (5th this year).
Given that we're putting the money back into the lake it's not the major driver behind this so you can take until the end of March to pay the £500 if you want to be in right from the start. Once we've had £200 you're a 'half syndicate member' and we can start to book dates. You can fish the lake once we've had the £500 so you could even take a bit longer to pay the full amount if necessary However, the syndicate year will still run April to April and you can't fish until you've paid the full £500...... Sound fair?
The syndicate member section on this forum is open to people who've registered a strong interest in joining and we're going to use that to pick your brains about syndicate issues, rules etc etc. Please check you've got access and, if not, let us know.
We're going to use the 2 months between now and April to sort things out over there. Here's a list of the kind of thing we want to address by April if we can (some are harder than others). We'll be posting in the 'syndicate member' section to pick your brains on some of these:
Toilets
Swims
Security
Storage
Weigh slings etc
Mobile home/caravan
Possibly, power, heating and water for shower (won't be mains so we need to have a think...)
If you've paid your £500 and would like to go over with us during Feb/March you'd be very welcome. We'll be working during the day but fishing at night and it would be great to meet you.
If you've got any questions or ideas please either pm us, leave a post in reply to this or contact us via the phone. (PM for phone number if you haven't got it yet) However, today we're off to look at mobilie homes for the lake so you won't get us till tonight.
All the best
Trish and Ron

Hi Trish, thanks for the run down :)
Just a quick note while its fresh in my mind. Regarding the hot water, why not install a gas boiler ? We use them loads in Spain, infact me and my old man install them all the time. They take the orange Butane bottles which are easily changed, i'm sure they will use them in France ?
We get a really good discount on them at our local supplier so if it's a good idea then don't hesitate in contacting me and i'll get you a price, could bring it with me on my first trip. It's entirely upto you guys, just let me know.
If anything needed building and i could get there when it needs doing then count me in for that too, only 23 but i can hold my own when it comes to construction :)
Cheers and look forwards to meeting you all soon,
Dan.

The mobile looks like pure luxury, especially compared to a bivvy, great if you take your partner or non fishing guest, also when the weather gets beyond a joke!! A brilliant find, well done to you both.

the mobile home is lovely, but very light in colour, so wearing slippers may be a good idea..

Hi Chris .....I think we have come a long way since the post above
but like most lakes there are still things we would like do to improve at the lake and what we offer the members
as for last year ...6 swims were made on the one side of the lake
security was sorted out
storage was sorted out
all weigh slings, unhooking mats, landing nets and buckets were purchased and are kept at the lake for the members to use for fish safety, there are allso some bedchairs and spare rods, to help cut down when packing the car.
I have a deal with the ferry company for the members also a bait and tackle company which all helps with costs.
The Mobile home is in palce and I have built a barby que area with table and chairs for the members to use ....Power is the main problem out there but I have taken a genorator over and am sorting that one out.
the fish last week where in A1 condition and there was some good weight gains on some of the carp that visited the bank
so all is looking good

Sounds good Mate.
Couple of questions.
Is the mobile home for members too?
Is there plenty of storage, what I mean is would it be suitable to leave a set up there?
Chris
|
Big Ron
|
Hi Chris .......no the mobile home is not for the members, but I have had permission to put up a wooden hut or put another one on there for the members ....but its all down to cost at present and this point in time, as we are not even meeting the lease with the number of members fees at pressent, but once we get more members then all the extra income will be put straight back into the lake and more fish stock's
Storage is not an issue at the lake and as I mentioned eairlier .....there is already....bed chairs, rods, landing nets, unhooking mats, weigh slings, water buckets all ready at the lake, was looking at maybe a couple of bivvys too .....that dont realy leave much for you to take
hope this makes sencse

Ron
thanks for the reply.
"..bed chairs, rods, landing nets, unhooking mats, weigh slings, water buckets all ready at the lake, was looking at maybe a couple of bivvys too"
So is all the above available to members?
What I was thinking about was whether or not there was room to store a full set of gear to allow me to fly down and rent a car to get around.
The costs of the train, petrol, tolls and the exhaustion factor of driving through the night are big compared to the price of the actual fishing as you are probably aware.

Big Ron
|

yes Chris ...they are all stored in the shed with a combination lock on it, once you are a paid up member you get the combination all the members can also take advantage of the other deals I have set up for them, ferry deals, bait and tackle deals
|
chris the gooner

Sounds good.
