Slack linesHi to all cat anglers. I have heard that slacker the line the better for the chance of catching a cat. How does this work on Rivers etc with a fast current.
With more and more fisheries turning to cat introductions within there waters it would be good to have advice on this matter. Although the only cats I have caught have been babies my fishing was not altered in any way when they were caught.
Help required please.

Slack lines are mainly used on lakes as its almost imposible to use them on a river
One system that is used on the river to over come the line being taken by the flow, is the bouy system ....this is where the rod is fished verticaly with all the main line suspended out of the water ...only the rig below the float is in the water
Its a method I used to use a lot in the old days

Thanks for that Ron. As for the slack line on a lake is this a resistance issue with the bait?
