Hi Ron, I just read the above link and it has made my mind up. I am a beginner at carping (3yrs) and would like to learn as much as I can, will you be at the syndycate lake a lot? My cheque will be with you before the end of the month and I cannot wait to meet you and Trish as well as the owners Francois and Benoite, as well as the other guy's & gal's from the syndycate, all the best,Trev.

Hey all,
well this is the "tell us about yourself" bit so i spose i should say a few words. I'm a young angler (23) but i've been fishing since i could hold a rod. Starting my fishing days in Australia where i was born, i had a rod in my hands by the age of 3.
Then onto the Uk, (age 5 - 15) don't ask why we moved from Auz, if i had a choice i would still be there ! I fished various lakes and rivers in the South East, Kent to be precise. This is where i turned my hand to Specimen hunting, any fresh water fish was my target for a long while, Tench, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Chub ... you name it, i fished for it. My Uk PB'S stand as :
Mirror - 27lb
Common - 27.5 lb
Chub - 7 lb
Roach - 3lb+
Rudd - 2lb+
Perch - 4lb 8oz
Tench - 11lb
My dad, being the traveller of the family decided that England just wasn't right for him so it was a swift chat and onto Spain. It didn't take much deciding as to where we would live, "somewhere on that huge river dad" !!! That river being the Ebro.
Obviously i fished it, it's right on my doorstep and after 2 years of constant searching and studying i set up my own Catfish guiding company ... much to the dissmay of the other's already set up, i was only 16 :)
The business ran itself, all i had to do was put fish on the bank, which i did on a regular basis, which put a few noses out of joint to say the least. I ran my dream business for 5 years solid, much to everyones beliefs it wasn't easy, i was out every day sometimes in 40 degrees of solid sun, tough times.
Last year was my final year as a guide, too many "fly by night" companies flooded the area and fishing became a hassle rather than a passion so it was time to throw the towel in. I've carried on fishing the Ebro but in different locations, mostly Caspe in search of that Spanish record which i still think is there, somewhere!
My Spanish PB's :
Common - 36 lbs
Catfish - 180 lbs
Zander -21 lbs
Roach - 4lbs
Rudd - 5lbs 8oz (and there's bigger yet to be caught !!)
Common Barbel - 8lbs
Black Bass - 6lbs
Now i'm moving onto pastures new, mostly France but i will be visiting Italy, Switzerland, South Africa & The USA / Canada to name a few.
Ok that's my fishing history to date, hope it didn't bore too many of ya ?! Now i just look forwards to fishing the syndicate water and meeting a few fellow anglers on the way.
Tight lines guys n girls,
Dan.

Now thats wot I call a full growing up session, well done to you Dan, I'm as envious as anyone could be,hope to see you on the syndycate lake soon mate.
I think the idea of a guest ticket is a good one, maybe if the lake is pretty quite and a guest ticket is available it could be more than twice? Would we have to book weeks well in advance, or could we just fish if there is room? My grammer/writing isn't the same as talking,I know wot I want to say but I cant explian it!! How much notice would be needed to book a week, anyway a guet ticket is a good idea Dan, if anybody can make sense of wot I'm ttrying to say feel free to turn it into english, regards Trev.
