Let's see if we can get a complete list of all the record carp captures from the early days to present day. In the days before the British Record Fish Committee existed the record carp was one that was "generally acknowledged" by the anglers of the day. Although other larger fish may have been caught but not reported (or caught but not "acknowledged") I'll start the list off with the information that I have.
26th Sept 1902 Common Carp 17lb 8oz from Croxby Pond by Otto Overbeck
6th Sept 1916 Mirror Carp 20lb 3oz from Cheshunt Reservoir by John Andrews
14th August 1926 Mirror Carp 21lb 10oz from Warren Pond by A.E.Wyatt
24th July 1930 Mirror Carp 26lb from Mapperley Reservoir by Albert Buckley
3rd Oct 1951 Mirror Carp 31lb 4oz from Redmire Pool by Bob Richards
13th Sept 1952 Common Carp 44lb from Redmire Pool by Richard Walker
"Clarissa"
16th June 1980 Mirror Carp 51lb 8oz from Redmire Pool by Chris Yates
"The Bishop"
June 1995 Mirror Carp 53lb 15oz from Mid Northants by Roddy Porter
(a bit controversial this record as it was caught in the "old" close season which ceased in 1995 on stillwaters)
June 1995 Mirror Carp 55lb 4oz from Mid Northants by Alex White
(the same fish as Roddy Porter's , nicknamed "The Scaley One". Heavily spawn bound the fish died shortly after this capture)
November 1996 Mirror Carp 55lb 13oz (Mary) from Wraysbury 1 by Terry Hearn
September 1998 Mirror Carp 56lb 6oz (Mary) from Wraysbury 1 by Kevin Cummins
That covers the 20th Century as 1999 passed by without anyone breaking Kevin Cummin's capture of Mary in 1998
