Youtube & virusesI've just spent most of today trying to get Ron's pc sorted out after we managed to pick up a virus on Youtube yesterday! Serves us right for not being cautious enough to say 'no' to a download.....
We have virus and spyware protection and I downloaded Microsoft's latest update today but this still slipped through ....and evaded capture!
If ever you need it I found this site useful - the tools on there found & sorted this nasty http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal_and_Prevention:_Overview

I'm not sure .... to be honest we were looking at a clip of an angler 'cuddling' his girlfriend on his bedchair..... I think you might be ok if you avoid anything with heavy breathing ......and treat any invitation to download anything with suspicion.
The 2 clips posted today are fine... I looked at them both..... which just goes to show, I never learn!

to be honest with you trish, i've not given it a thought about getting a virus from you tube, but how on earth can you tell?? good advice re: staying away from the heavy breathing ones..... but cheers for putting on the link for help with sorting out a virus, its well worth keeping for future reference.

I'm really not that sure what happened..... we clicked on a clip and it asked if we wanted to download something in order to see it. We merrily clicked on yes..... I THINK tho that it was an 'ActiveX' download or upgrade. Sorry I can't be more precise......
