is there any food going in the lake at the moment (when it is not frozen)?

i know you said they are virgin fish but have they seen a boiliee before, if not have you ever fished for carp that havent seen the smelly round balls, do they take long to get on the bait?

Confused

Food has started going in  Very Happy  Very Happy and yes they may take a bit of time to get on the round balls ....but dont worry as its fished more, they will soon regonise boilies  Very Happy

Sweet Corn is a great starter ....the first time I fished Lake Chira ( 1999 in its early days ) ....I took 19 bags of boilies out and brought 18 back ....all the fish came to swwet corn.

this was my best from that first trip on Sweet corn  Very Happy

I did revisit it a few years back with Jeff ..it was covered in International carper ....I had 42 carp all on Boillies  Wink ...so as you can see ...they soon learn  Very Happy

Nice fish Ron

I sneaked a day up at Chira last January when i was out there with my Mrs on holiday.
I had been chating to "Johninspain" from one of the other forums, he lives out there and he kindly let me tag along with him for a day.
We only managed bass that day but it was a great experince to see the lake and witness the stunning scenery.

Once our baby is a bit older we will be going back the GC, ideal winter break we really like it there. No doubt i'll try and get back up in the mountains.  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

Thats a spooky photograph Ron, how was that shadow formed, can't quite visualise it with the surrounding area, a chance in a million to see that shape, nice one.

it was formed by the rocks behind me which had a leaning tree on the top of them ...... as the sun got higher and higher it would cast the shadow of the top and leaning tree on the far bank and that shadows reflection would form to make a fish  Very Happy  Very Happy
