but a syndicate should be different, our syndicate being a group of like minded anglers, that will respect each other, respect the fish and respect the surroundings then that what Ron said should be a given

i have no problem using them in our situation  Very Happy

there is a hard bottom boat at the lake  Very Happy  Very Happy only problem is insurance .....once you say you are going to have boats on a water ....your premion goes through the roof ....thats why we went for bait boats ( Safety ) .....there is away around the lage baiting though .....as we are only fishing from the one side .....you could bait up from the other side ...just past the pads ...
I have done this on several lakes and it works quite well  Very Happy  Very Happy

you can see the boat in the pic below

Hear hear. 100% behind that.  salute

I've visions of us all getting together, swapping stories over a beer, or a glass of wine. Looks like it might have to be a cup of tea and a digestive now though...... Crying or Very sad

Bait boats like all tools have their place if used sensibly (by which I mean without disturbing fellow anglers)- I use one if I’m short session fishing as a means to get a reasonable amount of ground bait into the swim asap with the minimum of disturbance to the fish - once the bait's in then I will recast to the mark. When I want to top up the bait bed then I will use the Boat with the advantage I can send the rig out at the same time.

I have a viper mk3 which accept a Hummingbird fish finder (used for the depth feature !!) so i don't need to disturb an unfamiliar swim with a marker searching for those illusive fish holding features

Casting is slill in my mind the "gold standard" and has it's place , but so do bait boats, both are valid techniques.

Have a look at this footage ....this water is very simlar to the syndicate lake ....in its make up ......very shalow the one end and about 6 foot at the dam end and only fishable from one side .......I found a bait boat to be a real plush on this water ,,,, and with out it much harder to present your hook bait in the feeding areas ......so yes it is an aid to help catch fish  Very Happy  Very Happy
